The London Group Open 2017

Part 1: 8 November – 1 December 2017

Jo Evans’ practice explores time, space, money and mindset. She will be exhibiting at Part 1: The London Group Open 2017

The 83rd London Group Open shows work from artists selected from open call alongside the work of members from the artists’ collective, The London Group. The exhibition will feature works in a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, drawing, print, photography, digital, mixed media, installation, video and an audio artwork. The first part of the exhibition runs from 8th to 17th November with half of the selected artists showing. Monday – Friday 2pm – 6pm

Landing Gallery: Celebrating the Legacy of Barry Till

3 October – 4 November 2017

Barry Till by Maggi Hambling, 1986

This exhibition launches the renovation of the gallery space and its renaming as The Barry Till Gallery. The renaming celebrates Barry Till (1923-2013), who was Principal of Morley College London from 1965 to 1986 and established Morley as a centre for creative arts and adult education.

The exhibition is made up of artworks that were given to Till by members of staff in Morley’s visual arts departments, including work from Denzil Forrester, Adrian Bartlett and Jennifer Hollingdale.

NOW is a collection of contemporary exhibitions on the ground floor of the Scottish National Gallery, Modern one. Each exhibition celebrates the role of artists in society and introduces new paintings, photographs, sculptures never before shown in Scotland. The second exhibition of the series is themed around storytelling and features Turner Prize winning Susan Philipsz’s sound installations. The international artists exhibiting include: Michael Ermitage, Yto Barrada, Kate Davis, Hiwa K and Sarah Rose.

Morley Gallery: Print City

Rebuilding the Unbuilt by Steve Edwards

Print City features a range of works on the theme of the urban environment by members of the Printmakers Council.

The Printmakers Council was set up in 1965, to promote new developments within printmaking and promote printmaking place in education and the visual arts. Founding members include artists Julian Trevelyan, Michael Rothenstein, Anthony Gross, Agatha Sorel and Stanley Jones.

Art+Revolution

6 – 12 November 2017

This exhibition, which is in celebration of the centenary of 1917 Russian Revolution, displays filmmaker Barry Bliss’ collection of artefacts from the Russian Revolution, including artworks, pamphlets. Alongside these artefacts is shown 8 contemporary artists’ work exploring the theme of revolution in various mediums including textiles, printmaking, photography, graphic design and ceramics. Contemporary artists being shown include: Martin Adams, Debbie Bliss, Raewyn Harrison, Lorraine Huddle, Roger Huddle, Tim Sanders, Red Saunders and Paul Tucker.

Infinity: Gemma Cossey & Jane Ponsford

Espacio Original Print Fair 2017

31 October – 12 November 2017
Private view: Thursday 2 November 6pm – 9pm

An exhibition of framed and unframed original, hand pulled prints by 18 experienced printmakers who have exhibited widely in London and internationally. The exhibition, curated by Zelda Eady, runs across two floors and includes an education room where a printmaker will always be present to explain the tools of the trade collected there and answer any questions. An afternoon of print demonstrations will take place in the gallery from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday 5th November. This is a free event and everyone will be welcome.
