Dead Funny

25th June – 9th August

dead funny neo

“Dead Funny” is a phrase we hear often in this country, two words which seem contradictory, but are undoubtedly apt for an exhibition looking at death and humour. It might sound morbid to some, but in fact there has always been humour around the subject of death, laughing is a release from the real business of grief. As far as art goes, the most frequently depicted scene in the history of art is the crucifixion, so art has some form when it comes to death. This exhibition at neo:gallery27 will give 19 contemporary artists the opportunity to tackle the subject of death, humour, and frequently, both.”
